    • In-class group assignment: Director's Notebook for III, 4
      • Imagine you are a director who is going to stage III, 4 for a performance. You need to give specific directions to your actors about how you want them to move through the scene and portray their lines. Create two documents for this "Director's Notebook":
        1. Set Design Map: On a blank piece of paper, create a set design map for this scene. This means that you will indicate where pieces of furniture will be placed to create the proper environment for the scene directions.
        2. Acting Notes: On the handout of scene 4, make two kinds of notes:
          • In red, make notes about how you want each of the four the actors to sound and act when delivering their lines.
          • Then, in blue, make notes on the copy of the scene for the actors about where and when they will move within the scene. Refer to your set design map and stage terminology (DL, UR, C, etc.) [FYI, here is a director's thought process behind a blocking plan for I, 2]
      • If you were absent, please complete this alternate assignment to make up your grade.
